The biggest challenge I faced during this project has to be boredom the reason why I think it is boredom is because during the proses of making the book I had to fill two hundred and seventy breeds with their characteristics. And their characteristics had some hefty information that made it really hard to push forward and fill out all the pages needed for the printing proses. You might be wondering how I over came this. Well I metaphorically slapped my face to conquer this by telling me to get up and learn something new. And that is what I did; I learned something new about dogs when this challenge appeared.
I found an interesting fact that I did not know before the project. This happens to be that dogs can see color. What you might be thinking, but yes its true dogs can see color this is due to the retina and how many cones they have. For example humans have six million cones in their retina giving us a chance to see the colors of the rainbow. And dogs have one million two hundred cones in their retina so they only see yellow, blue and various shades of gray. Given that Penn state used this to see what actual colors a dog sees and these colors ended up being yellow, blue and various shades of gray breaking the myth that dogs only see black and white. From this fact I think I will remember this ten years from now because of how cool it is to think that dogs can see color not just black and white.
This subject of whether schools across America should have 20% projects differs to me because a student gets to choose what subject they would like to learn. This could benefit this world with our problems of not knowing how to problem solve. So one project could help space travel for math or a book about oceanography for humanities. But the one draw back is that not all classes can use 20% projects for example Spanish. Because Spanish cant be taught through your self. And to end I think the thought of the 20% project across America is a gray area and needs to be more explored in order to make it a fruitful subject.
